Job Description
As a Secondary School Teacher at ICS, you will play a vital role in guiding our older students through their path to IB exams, university, and future career choices. You will have the unique ability to promote learning and personal growth by building on students' natural talents as they mature through the years and gradually recognize their strengths.

This position is a maternity cover for a part-time allocation (1 year).
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
* Teach IB MYP Music classes (Grades 6-10)
* Support and facilitate Music Productions at ICS, including those that serve the curriculum (e.g., Grade 11 and 12 Theatre Productions)
* Suggest developments for music-related resources and facilities
* Enhance learning using technology
Assessment and Reporting
* Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant feedback to students on formative and summative assessments
* Monitor, assess, and record each child's progress and set targets
* Keep parents informed about their child's learning and communicate proactively with parents
* Inform tutors and the Secondary Pastoral Leadership Team about student welfare, achievement, and behavior issues
* Record and report student progress according to established school procedures
* Attend Parent Teacher Conferences to provide feedback on students' progress, attainment, and learning targets
* Plan and deliver units and lessons for relevant classes
* Teach the Personal Development Programme to your assigned class
* Participate in co-teaching models where applicable
* Ensure curriculum plans are up-to-date for grade levels taught
* Create learning activities that challenge students and demonstrate an understanding of diverse student needs
Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning
* SUPPORT THE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF STUDENTS IN YOUR CLASSES
* Demonstrate effective classroom management showing an understanding of academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning
* Assist in developing children's personal, social, and language abilities
* Create and maintain a positive learning environment
Collaborative Culture at ICS
* Contribute positively to team culture by being an engaged participant in team and secondary meetings
* Liaise with the Head of Department and IB Coordinators to ensure program requirements are met
* Contribute to the field trip program
Maintaining a Positive Approach
* Adhere to Secondary School deadlines
* Assist with covering classes for absent colleagues
* Assist with exam administration
* Attend Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences to provide feedback on students' progress, attainment, and learning targets
* Contribute to Extra Curricular Activities to enhance the school experience
Requirements
* Current classroom teacher qualification to teach Music at Secondary level
* Minimum 2 years recent and relevant classroom experience
* Experience in an international school environment is advantageous
* Experience teaching learners with diverse needs
* Competence in using technology for learning and information management purposes
* Strong organizational skills
* Specialist knowledge of Performing Arts pedagogy
* Knowledge of developmental needs of children aged 12-18
* Empathy and social skills
* Documented record of excellence in teaching
* A valid Swiss work permit or European passport is required
