Contexte
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the areas of medical care, medical research and training.
The mission of the Urology Research Unit is to better understand bladder tumor immunity to develop new treatments. We recently showed that regulatory myeloid cells may play a significant role in bladder tumor development and resistance to therapy. Therefore, the aim of this project is to unveil the intrinsic of regulatory myeloid cells, and thus better understand their role and functions in bladder cancer patients.
Mission
You will be part of the Urology Research Unit, a research group within the department of Urology at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). Our preliminary transcriptomic results highlighted new markers of regulatory myeloid cells in bladder cancer. Your primary mission will be to validate these results at the protein level and elucidate the function of these markers in bladder tumor mouse model, as well as in patient’s samples.
Profil
* Master’s degree in biomedical sciences
* Strong background in immunology (particularly in tumor immunology)
* Experience in flow cytometry and animal experimentation would be an advantage
* High degree of motivation and creativity for new projects
* Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
* Capacity to work collaboratively with other group members
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in English (French is a plus).
