Teacher of English
100% – 2-year contract – Starting August 2025
Responsibilities
Deliver effective English language and literature teaching across the secondary school.
Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of English programs at the lower secondary, IGCSE, and DP levels.
Collaborate with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum, including resource selection and management in the classroom.
Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
Engage in professional development and contribute to staff training and meetings.
Support extracurricular activities, including trips, excursions, and field trips.
Enhance the reputation of the teaching body.
Foster positive relations between the English department and the wider community through cooperative initiatives, publications, and competitions.
Qualifications And Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language with QTS status or equivalent.
Minimum of three years of proven teaching experience, ideally in an international context.
Experience teaching English at IB Diploma (or A-Level) and IGCSE levels.
Native English speaker.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
Strong organizational skills and proficient in using technology for both teaching and administrative tasks.
Capable of inspiring mixed-culture and mixed-ability classes by creating engaging and challenging learning opportunities.
Able to support students with both academic and pastoral needs.
A clear criminal record and a valid work permit are advantageous.
