The Actuarial Pricing team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Reinsurance Actuary to join our Zurich office.
In this role you will perform pricing analysis for the broad spectrum of P&C and Specialty reinsurance, with a lead focus on Financial Risks (Credit, Surety, Political). In addition, you are involved in the development and pricing of innovative risk transfer solutions together with clients and brokers. You will work with underwriters to analyze the profitability of our portfolio and to grow our book. You will work closely with the actuarial function in home office and the other branch offices on the development of pricing tools to enhance our pricing excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Lead pricing for Financial Risks and Credit Book
2. Price reinsurance treaties and liaise with underwriting in support of our Financial Risks/ Credit book of business, and also provide pricing support to the Zurich and Global Pricing teams in other Casualty, Surety and Property lines of business
3. Liaise with underwriting and management in support of our global book of business
4. Provide recommendations on changes to existing or new financial lines/ credit pricing models
5. Mentor, train and develop junior and student actuary reports
6. Participate in client visits, broker meetings, and marketing events
7. Produce presentations and reports to meet management, board, and strategy reporting needs
8. Perform transactional actuarial pricing analyses, conducting lines of business studies, profitability reviews, portfolio management, and ad-hoc modeling work.
9. Ensure global views, consistency, and synergies through inter-office connectedness with actuaries across the group (Reserving, ERM, Capital Modeling, CAT Modeling, and Insurance Actuarial)
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
10. Qualified/ Nearly-qualified Actuary in a globally recognized actuarial body.
11. 8+ years industry experience
12. Proven experience in Financial Lines/ Credit actuarial pricing with a sound knowledge of other P&C lines; reinsurance a plus.
13. Exposure to reserving practices, CAT modeling, portfolio management, and finance/accounting
14. Knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II and capital management is an advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
15. The ideal candidate is team oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and excellent written and oral communications skills.
16. Able to work in dynamic and agile environment, especially through remote setting.
17. Experience with Python, and/or R, SQL, programming skills is a plus
18. Languages: proficient in English, another European language is an advantage
19. Keen to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, good team player
