Your role and responsibilities
The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for driving the long-term profitable growth of the ABB ELIP PMA offering to target market segments (e.g. Rail, OEM machinery, etc.). As the "owner" of your assigned product portfolio, you will be managing a strategically important market segment (e.g. Robotics & Automation) for PMA cable protection products. Additionally, you will act as forefront for innovation efforts within the organization, focusing on areas like digitalization and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include performing market intelligence, driving new developments & innovation for PMA products, leading market introductions and tracking portfolio performance. The work model for the role is: onsite / hybrid / remote. You will be mainly accountable for: Leading the market intelligence analysis (e.g. gathering and analyzing data about business market's) to better understand customer behavior, industry trends, competitor activities, and new market opportunities.
Acting as interface between external market (e.g. customer, distribution partners, regional sales teams, etc.) and internal functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, and Research & Development), forecasting market & volume trends on a regular basis to ensure Operation's capability to fulfil customer orders.
Prioritizing and driving new offering development projects with the responsibility for achieving the targets (product characteristics, time, costs, capital expenditure, pay-back) and coordinating with cross-functional teams. This includes product launch planning & implementation.
Leading the lifecycle management process, analyzing current offering, defining and tracking performance metrics, planning appropriate measures (e.g., enhancements, cost reductions, and phase-outs), and making decisions on offering obsolescence and end-of-life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met and to maximize profitability.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor or master's in engineering or operations management is required, MBA is a plus.
Min. 5 years of experience in product management.
Proven record of new product developments, product launch, marketing, and technical solutions.
Relevant experience in electrical industry, cable protection, or cable management.
Experience in project management & leading project teams (plus).
Strong entrepreneurship, project management, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal; German & English is a must.
