Job Description
The Oilseed Risk Management group currently consists of 8 team members; four located in Chicago, IL and 4 in Rolle, SWZ. The group serves 3 main functions. The first function is executing hedges for the oilseed complex for our cash/physical traders around the world. ADM utilizes a central hedging system in which we are able to limit direct access to futures and derivatives trading while still maintaining proper risk management and hedging capability. The second function our team is a general risk management function. We advise and execute on strategies including options, futures, and spread trading to better manage ADM's risk. Finally, we attempt to optimize hedges by leveraging the information provided internally through ADM's large physical trading network. The underlying theme for the group is risk management; we serve the internal traders/merchandisers as our clients and put priority on their needs.
Required
1. Experience in agricultural markets - preferably commercial experience in physical cash markets
2. Understanding and experience in trading derivatives markets, preferably agricultural markets
3. Must be numerate, analytical, and disciplined with a strong work ethic and interest in global macro markets as well as specific markets in which ADM is involved
4. Able to think uniquely and formulate ideas, reports and strategies which can add value to the desk's current expertise
5. Thorough understanding of physical cash market dynamics and the processing business risk positions generated as a result of ADM's business
6. Desire to be part of a team; Risk Management is the focus not individual trading
Daily Functions
7. Manage daily internal order flow from destination, processing and origination facilities across EMEA
8. Primarily determining optimal hedge and execution strategies with the use of CBOT, ICE and EURONEXT Agriculture derivatives
9. Manage daily positions while being the conduit between ADMSI and internal business units
10. Participate and drive discussion on trade flows and supply and demand grids
11. Formulate and share market opinions based on technical analysis, derivatives market structure, and fundamental analysis
12. Composition of market reports and data retrieval or any other ad-hoc requests that are part of the desk’s internal service function
