Why we need this role:
#LI-DNI As the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our enterprise-wide security strategy. Primary responsibility will be to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our security architecture and engineering practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

What you will do:
1. Security Architecture Leadership - Develop and maintain the company's security architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
2. Engineering Oversight - Lead a team of skilled security engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across the organization.
3. Threat Intelligence - Review the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, incorporating threat intelligence into security strategies.
4. Security Technology Roadmap - Establish and manage Security technology roadmap and drive the adoption of emerging security technologies and methodologies to support the organisation’s transformation agenda.
5. Collaboration and Communications - Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business to align security initiatives with the overall technology and business strategy.
6. Team Development and Management - Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing cybersecurity operations team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and collaboration within the team.
7. Budget Management - Manage the security budget, including resource allocation, cost control, and procurement.
8. Vendor Management - Oversee security-related vendor relationships and contracts.
What we’re looking for:
1. Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in security architecture and engineering leadership roles.
3. In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
4. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
5. Industry certifications such as SABSA, CISSP or similar are highly desirable.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to assess complex security situations and make informed decisions.
In addition, you are:
1. A robust, dynamic self-starter with imagination and vision.
2. Willing to be flexible to get the work done and able to prioritise and plan time effectively.
3. Able to communicate clearly and succinctly, including the ability to deliver difficult messages in a positive way.
4. Have strong interpersonal skills and able to build a positive team culture in a global team and cross-cultural environment as well as a customer focused culture.
5. Results-focused, efficient and pragmatic.
6. Identify areas where team’s activities duplicate or conflict with other teams; working to resolve conflicts or remove duplication in a way that creates maximum benefit for the business.
7. Able to support a strategic vision and think globally with a strong sense for entrepreneurship.
8. Able and willing to travel when required.
