Your Future Role
140 years of Swiss railway history meet modern solutions for green mobility in Zurich. With 300 colleagues, our Zurich site serves as a global competence center for high-performance traction technology and a development hub for locomotives, bogies, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as services for the local and global markets. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to SCHMID Reto, Traction System Domain Leader and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
1. Electrical design of complete traction system solutions for Locomotives, Commuters and High-Speed Trains, including the related documentation (e.g. electrical circuit diagrams and operation manuals)
2. Contribution to the development of future standard Traction Systems
3. Special Engineering tasks to optimize performance, energy efficiency and safety of propulsion systems (e.g. line interference current calculations)
4. Concept evaluation for Traction Systems and its components in close cooperation with the other teams (Converter Electrical and Mechanical Engineering)
5. Specifications of Traction System and High Voltage main components
All About You
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Ideally 3-5 years of experience in the railway, rolling stock, or traction technology sectors, specifically in development or project engineering
3. Proficiency in traction system design and/or power electronics for converter systems
4. Experience in project management, with familiarity in MS Office, ECAD, and tools such as MATLAB, Simplorer, or LabVIEW
5. Fluency in both written and spoken German and English
