Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to work alongside our Head Chef and team to create exquisite menus that showcase the best of European cuisine.
Main Responsibilities:
* Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook a variety of menus befitting the train's luxurious dining experience, using only the freshest ingredients and maintaining the highest quality standards.
* Kitchen Management: Manage kitchen workflow to ensure seamless operations and service delivery, ensuring that every dish is presented to perfection.
* Inventory and Procurement: Oversee inventory and procurement, balancing quality with cost-effectiveness to maintain our reputation for excellence.
* Quality and Hygiene: Uphold strict quality and hygiene standards in food preparation and presentation, ensuring the well-being of our guests and staff.
* Kitchen Team Leadership: Guide and develop kitchen staff while fostering teamwork in a compact space, promoting a culture of kindness, active listening, and genuine connections.
Requirements:
* Culinary Expertise: Demonstrated culinary expertise with a minimum of 5 years in fine dining establishments, with overall 10 years' work experience including experience in high-pressure kitchen environments.
* Managerial Abilities: Strong managerial abilities to oversee kitchen staff, provide training, and maintain high morale and team cohesion.
* Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to quickly adjust to the dynamic and confined working conditions aboard a luxury train and handle unexpected challenges smoothly.
