Job Description
The CERN Press Office team is seeking an Early Career (Origin) Graduate to join its ranks. As a junior press officer, you will contribute to external communication projects and campaigns, evaluating and monitoring their effectiveness.
You will be responsible for addressing journalists' requests, updating the media database, organising press visits and events, and providing organisational support for the Press Office activities.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to external communication projects and campaigns, mainly press releases and media kits.
2. Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of media and external communication projects and activities.
3. Address journalists' requests and update the existing media database.
4. Organise press visits and take part in the organisation of press events and media training courses for CERN members.
5. Update the Press Office's website and provide organisational support for the Press Office activities.
6. Share resources and assist with other activities related to media and digital communication as requested.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Nationality: You must be a national of one of the member states of the European Laboratory Association (CERN Member States).
* Education: Your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communication, Social Sciences, or STEM (or a related field). You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation.
* CERN Experience: You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
* University Degree: Applicants without a University degree are not eligible. Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
Additional Information:
This position involves interventions in underground installations. A valid driving licence is required. Work during nights, Sundays, and official holidays may be necessary when required by the Organisation's needs.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
