The combined role of domestic staff and kitchen assistant includes all the responsibilities of the domestic staff role, with the addition of assisting in daily food preparation and once per week taking responsibility for the kitchen, on the chef’s day off. With considerable client contact, those in this role are expected to maintain very high standards of appearance and must be patient and flexible at all times.
Requirements
* Fluent in English.
* Experience in a catering environment (food preparation).
* Experience of hospitality work (cleaning, food service, waiter/waitress, bartender, etc.) an advantage.
* Organised, adaptable, trustworthy, patient and presentable.

In the winter, a ski pass (“Magic Pass”) can be provided at a reduced cost (449 Swiss francs) to support staff, if requested. The cost is deducted from the first month’s net salary, but is refunded at the end of the employment period, if the employment is completed satisfactorily and in full.
Duties and responsibilities
* Participate in and contribute to the compulsory training and assessment period.
* Prepare the chalet/hotel facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness and maintain the cleanliness throughout the season.
* Prepare and maintain guest and staff bedrooms and other facilities, daily, as required.
* Assist in food preparation, daily, as required.
* Prepare the dining room and serve each meal, daily, as required.
* Assist in dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, daily, as required.
* Manage the efficient operation of the kitchen in the absence of the chef, producing and serving meals to an agreed menu and maintaining the very highest standards of hygiene, one day per week, as required.
* Take responsibility (serving, cleaning, cash reporting, etc.) for the bar/tuck shop, as required.
* Carry out laundry, as required.
* Clear snow, as required.
* Be a role model to the children, acting responsibly and in a caring manner at all times.
* Show understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultural backgrounds within the children, school chaperones and Viamonde staff.
