Our client is a Geneva-based Federation that defends worker's rights worldwide.
Accounting and Financial Operations
1. Oversee and manage accounting operations for both Swiss and French offices, ensuring compliance with local standards.
2. Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements from both countries, aligning with international standards where applicable. This is crucial for the structure's global development, as it enables the structuring of accounting and consolidation across regions.
3. Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements in France and Switzerland. Adapt to each audit requirement for other regions, coordinating with local teams.
4. Seek improvement opportunities and provide leadership to guide the global team in adopting best practices.
5. Maintain the chart of accounts.
Cash Management
1. Manage cash needs in the head office and regions, ensuring the right level of cash is available in various entities, along with its reporting.
2. Manage banking relationships, acting as a liaison with banks to facilitate wire transfers and optimize transactions globally. Liaise with other financial institutions as needed.
Compliance
1. Maintain current working knowledge of pertinent accounting and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
2. Identify and adopt sector-standard best practices.
3. Serve as the main point of contact for detailed interactions with external auditors and tax accountants.
4. Comply with and complete necessary reporting for any local, state, and national government requirements, tax filings, and other filings.
This role includes direct report management, assisting with accounting operations, and strong involvement in the global deployment project of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
International Working Environment
The non-profit sector requires professionals with:
* A minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and international accounting standards.
* At least 10 years of accounting experience, specifically in France and/or Switzerland within an international context.
* Proven experience with the accounting standards and regulatory environments of France and/or Switzerland, and financial consolidation.
* Fluency in English and French.
* A high level of integrity and ethical standards.
