Join our team as a Data Platform Engineer and help us develop an enterprise-wide data platform on Microsoft Azure and Snowflake! In this role, you will design and implement data pipelines to extract data from multiple source systems – focusing on scalable and stable solutions. You’ll work within a project team that sets up the platform and migrates the existing data and analytics solutions. Your main responsibilities are:
Design, develop and operate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, and Snowflake;
Manage the cloud infrastructure we use on Microsoft Azure and Snowflake using Infrastructure-as-code;
Collaborate closely within the scrum team to estimate, plan, and deliver platform features, working alongside the Product Owner to meet business requirements;
Empower data analysts and data scientists by enabling access to well-structured, high-quality data, enabling data-driven decision making;
Work closely together with the infrastructure and cloud team to make sure our solution fits within the company’s cloud standards;
Keep up with the latest technologies and industry trends to ensure our platform remains fit for future.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience as a data (platform) engineer, preferably in the finance or technology industry;
Academic degree in computer science, engineering or similar;
Experience in building ELT pipelines, e.g. using Azure Data Factory, and Snowflake;
Strong skills in DevOps, Cloud and Infrastructure as Code (e.g, Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Docker, Azure DevOps) and familiarity with software development best practices;
Knowledge of Python and PowerBI is a plus;
Experience with migrating on-prem (data warehouse) systems to the cloud is valuable;
Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability in English, German is a plus.
