Tomplay reinvents sheet music, for an interactive and immersive playing experience. Tomplay interactive sheet music allows all musicians to play along with classical, pop, rock, folk, jazz, film and world music scores accompanied by real recordings from professional musicians.
Thanks to unique technology, the interactive scores scroll automatically on-screen, creating an immersive, concert hall experience. With features such as controlling the speed of the score’s recording, looping selected passages and self-recording, Tomplay makes learning music simpler, more effective and more fun.
Tomplay app is used by more than 1M musicians worldwide and has won numerous awards.
Tasks
We are searching for a Sheet Music Project Manager who will join the Tomplay production team, and will have the following responsibilities:
You will oversee and coordinate musical projects from the beginning to the end. Such projects include several steps:
* A careful and precise comparison of the sheet music editions available and the selection of the best edition.
* Sending the sheet music edition to the engraving team and then to the proofreading team. This step also includes a complete check of both engraved and proofread scores, to make sure they are perfectly in line with Tomplay’s quality standards.
* You will liaise with recording studios and gather quotes for work to be carried out. You will then carefully listen to the files post-recording and send the required corrections to the studio.
* You will ensure that all files (sheet music and audio files) are correct, in line with Tomplay’s quality standards, correctly classified, and named in Tomplay’s classification system for integration into the Tomplay app.
You will also arrange scores in Sibelius yourself for several instruments, catering to a range of ability levels.
You will also use your musical knowledge to contribute to the development of innovative music-learning features for our app. Such features could include an improved metronome device, a tuning fork feature, etc.
Requirements
* You should be classically trained, with proficiency in playing multiple instruments at a professional level. To excel in this role, it is essential to have a perfect understanding of music theory, and knowledge of the specific requirements of different instruments.
* You also teach, or have taught, a musical instrument to musicians of all levels, including beginners. You have a perfect understanding of the needs and challenges that face amateur musicians when learning an instrument.
* You are extremely well-organized, autonomous, and feel comfortable owning and managing musical projects with tight deadlines. The role involves managing a number of key stages in the production of our interactive scores, working with a wide range of people at all stages of our production process, and delivering projects on time to Tomplay’s high-quality standard.
* You are naturally tech savvy and spend a fair amount of your day online. You generally know how the web and apps work, and you can quickly learn how to use new software platforms. You use regularly music learning digital platforms, and are convinced that new technologies can have a positive impact on the music learning process.
* English speaking is essential, with very good communication skills; you must be open-minded, precise and solution-oriented. Initiative and involvement are highly appreciated.
* You have access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace free of disruptions.
* Experience as a Conductor is not required but it is a plus.
