Job Responsibilities
You are responsible for creating designs that honor Bulgari's rich tradition while pushing the boundaries of creativity. Your work blends the essence of Italian and Roman design with the precision of Swiss craftsmanship, ensuring Bulgari remains at the forefront of Horlogerie.
You develop creative designs in line with Design Direction’s guidelines and marketing briefs, while also proposing innovative ideas based on market trends, special projects, and free creative exploration.
Collaborating closely with the product and technical development teams, you ensure that your aesthetic vision is faithfully captured from the initial drawings through to the final realization of each piece.
Part of your scope is to design our jewelry watches. Therefore, the understanding of jewelry casting, setting techniques, and watch craftsmanship will allow you to provide guidance during the development process and enable a constructive conversation. You also collaborate with the gemologist to remain aware of available gemstones and hard stones that could be incorporated into your jewelry watch designs and provide your own suggestions.
You keep yourself informed about contemporary design trends and competitors’ offerings while maintaining a strong connection to Bulgari’s legacy, craftsmanship, and the technical evolution of our products. Finally, you are responsible for maintaining a constantly updated Design Archive, ensuring all your creative work is documented.
Profile
Your passion for innovative design and appreciation for Italian aesthetics make you a highly skilled designer. You hold a degree in Design, and you bring at least five years of experience in watch design.
Your advanced knowledge includes not only traditional watchmaking techniques but also jewelry design techniques, such as understanding of gemstones and setting. Proficiency in 2D/3D design software is required, and experience with jewelry casting and métiers d'art techniques for dials is a plus.
Fluency in French and English is essential for this role, and proficiency in Italian is a valuable asset. Key attributes for success include creativity, aesthetic sensitivity, flexibility, and a refined attention to detail, enabling you to blend industrial design techniques with the art of watchmaking.
You are a team player with excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external partners. You are flexible and deal easily with ambiguity and changes.
