About the Role: A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Team Overview: The (Augmented Reality/Extended Reality) AR/XR Team at Google is building the future of immersive computing. We are a team with product managers, engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked to build the next generation technology to give people superhuman abilities by making information instantly and intuitively accessible. We are focused on making computing accessible to people through mobile immersive XR devices and to enable the next generation of immersive experiences, through collaborations with teams across Google and our third-party partners.
Product Area: The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement communications standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and key partner communications.
2. Establish a cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship whereby improvements such as efficiency and utilization gains are measurable and the impact can be felt organization-wide.
3. Lead a governance structure that drives executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure exposes and mitigates dependencies.
4. Identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and which affect multiple teams.
5. Manage a program portfolio solving problems with the goal of business impact for the organization and product area.
