Job Description
Purpose:
As the Global R&D Lead of Syngenta Professional Solutions (SPS) you will lead and execute Syngenta Professional Solutions‘ R&D strategy, aligning with commercial vision and long-term plans. You will drive innovation by:
- Leading a global team of technical managers and product biology experts
- Leveraging Crop Protection R&D resources to deliver the SPS pipeline
- Optimizing development timelines and maximizing business potential
- Providing strategic techno-commercial leadership in new Active Ingredient development
- Collaborating with regional R&D teams to support product lifecycle management
- Key member of the global SPS Leadership Team

Accountabilities
- Contribute to defining and implementing the R&D pillar in the SPS strategic agenda
- Drive R&D strategy for Syngenta Professional Solutions (SPS), aligning with global business objectives
- Manage global R&D budget and resources, ensuring efficient allocation across research and development activities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with key global functions to support SPS pipeline and technology advancement
- Oversee external collaborations with academia and Contract Research Organizations (CROs), fostering innovation and expanding technological capabilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging both internal expertise and external partnerships
- Represent SPS in high-level leadership teams, ensuring alignment of priorities across the organization
- Lead and develop a global team of technical managers, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence
- Act as focus point for the SPS R&D community (global & regional) and create an effective and smoothly working multifunctional R&D team, leading regular team meetings to drive operational effectiveness and common goals
- Spearhead the integration of digital solutions to enhance team effectiveness and customer value
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including HSE and D&I initiatives
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A science, technology, engineering or agronomy degree, preferably a post-graduate qualification
- Fluent English
- Minimum 10 years’ experience of R&D processes and functional capabilities within a relevant industrial/academic environment
- R&D background in a relevant professional segment: Turf & Ornamentals, Landscape, Pest Management and related sectors
- Solid understanding at the technical-commercial interface
- Experience of networking and collaborating within multinational R&D environment
- Deep understanding of end-to-end product development and associated resourcing
- Proven track-record of delivery through projects
- Managing complex stakeholder relationships
- Strategy development
- Direct and indirect line management experience
- Preferably strong international experience
