About the Role
As a Team Member of Engineering Controlling, you will be responsible for coordinating and steering global R&D related controlling topics with a global Automotive scope. Your focus will be on process and project-related tasks with a global scope.
You will work together with your team members to support the centralization and harmonization of processes and approaches globally. Additionally, you will help bring more efficiency and automation into the current setup. In your daily business, you will support R&D Controlling with needed deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Align and support month-end-closure processes and activities globally.
2. Operational controlling for Strategic Business Units (SBU) or Customer Business Units (CBU), including budget planning and forecasting throughout.
3. Be an Engineering Controller for SBUs and prepare monthly and quarterly reviews.
4. Be a Business Partner for SBU teams or customer teams.
5. Define and prepare monthly reports and provide commentaries for SBUs or CBUs.
6. Understand and proceed with Intercompany processes for related areas.
7. Understand and steer engineering master data.
8. Be part of steering external contractors engineering globally.
9. Calculate engineering hourly rates globally for budget and business case planning.
10. Calculate OH-Mark-up and arrange IC agreements; proceed with Intercompany transactions.
11. Define and track the global time booking process – ensure adherence to it.
12. Act as deputy for global accrual calculation.
13. Ensure management of financial commitments and expense budgets for the Engineering department/Customer Program Management (CPM).
14. Report on Engineering/Customer Program Management (CPM) financial actuals, budget, and forecasting processes, and key data for functional expenses.
Requirements:
1. 3 years' operational Controlling experience.
2. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in economics.
3. Expert knowledge in data flow management.
4. Advanced experience in steering subjects/projects independently.
5. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint).
6. Good financial modeling and analytical skills and aptitude for complex problem-solving, including data analysis, and validation.
7. Ability to exercise independent judgment and ability to identify and improve processes.
8. Accounting knowledge.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with various levels within the organization, including senior leadership.
10. Strong interpersonal skills.
11. Previous experience with Controlling projects.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
1. 3 years' experience with SAP or other ERPs.
2. Automotive supplier experience is desirable.
