In addition, we produce biotherapeutic drugs to stop bleeding in emergencies or planned surgical interventions.
In this role you manage the local procurement operations of Bern manufacturing site. You are responsible to assure that the materials are available on time and in the right quality and quantity to produce our life-saving products. The role is part of the Site Supply Chain leadership team and working very close with planning and logistics, but also with the global sourcing team or with peers from other CSL Behring manufacturing sites.
Role responsibilities:
•You are responsible for managing activities related to the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment and services
• You direct buyers to accomplish company objectives in compliance with company policies and procedures
• You negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and/or approves purchases as authorized
• You develop and maintain procurement analysis for key materials detailing price and supply trends, market trends and future purchasing strategy
• You lead materials cost reduction activities and communicates cost savings philosophy to staff
• You serve as primary management contact and coordinates activities with internal stakeholders to address operational issues
• You manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services
• You contribute to systems and process improvement to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service
• You monitor and enforce compliance to the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy
Educational background and past experiences:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, or technical field
• 7+ years' experience in procurement/purchasing
• Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM)
• You have strong leadership/mentoring skills with a 1st experience in team management
• Demonstrated success in contract negotiations
