We are recruiting for a Global Category Manager - Primary Packaging on behalf of one of our esteemed clients, a leading global healthcare company dedicated to innovation in In Vitro Diagnostics. Their Global Operations function plays a crucial role in advancing healthcare, with their Direct Procurement team at the heart of it. Your Role
As the Global Category Manager - Primary Packaging, you will be responsible for a critical category that includes materials directly contacting reagents (e.g., bottles, tubes) as well as key packaging components (e.g., racks, cassettes, covers). The category primarily focuses on high-precision, high-throughput injection-molded plastic parts.
In this role, you will:
* Drive Strategy: Develop and implement the Category Strategy and Multi-Year Pipeline, leading key strategic initiatives.
* Challenge the Status Quo: Identify opportunities for enhancement and influence senior leadership to adopt innovative procurement approaches.
* Manage Risks & CSR: Conduct thorough risk and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reviews, integrating them into category strategy.
* Foster Supplier Relationships: Strengthen existing partnerships and scout for new suppliers that align with the company’s needs.
* Ensure Compliance & Process Optimization: Support contract compliance and harmonize procurement processes and technology.
* Coach & Develop Teams: Mentor procurement colleagues and provide professional growth opportunities.

* Duration: 12 months (extension likely)
* Location: Zug, Switzerland (Hybrid - minimum 50% onsite)

* Travel: Up to 20%
Your Profile
We are looking for a highly skilled procurement professional with:
* A university degree (Business, Engineering, or Scientific discipline preferred)
* 7+ years of strategic procurement experience, specializing in category management and advanced strategic sourcing
* 7+ years of business experience, including working within a regulated industry for regulated categories
* Expertise in managing global cross-functional teams
* Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling and negotiation skills
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project leadership skills
* Proven experience in change management and process improvement
* Proficiency in Strategic Relationship Management and procurement systems (e.g., e-sourcing, e-auction)
* Fluent English skills (business level)
