Copper is a digital asset technology company that assists institutional investors in securely acquiring, trading, and storing crypto assets.
Built on Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology, Copper's custody system offers a unique solution for connecting to centralized exchanges, DeFi applications, and staking pools without removing assets from custody.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advise the business and Compliance Team on Swiss and EU regulatory law matters.
2. Support regulated entities in establishing and maintaining operating models and policy frameworks in compliance with changing regulatory requirements.
3. Draft and manage new and ongoing license applications for international growth.
4. Partner with the Product Team to advise on new products and services and their compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Collaborate with external counsel as needed, managing legal spend and invoices.
6. Support trainee solicitors and paralegals in their development.
Requirements
* Swiss or EU qualified lawyer, solicitor, or barrister in a common law jurisdiction.
* Post-qualification experience in-house or at a law firm.
* Knowledge of banking and financial services regulation, including Swiss Banking Act, FinSA, FIDLEG, AMLA, 5AMLD, MiFID II, CRR, CRD, PSD II, or MiCA.
* Able to manage transactions and projects, with awareness of when to escalate issues.
* Up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, sharing expertise within the Legal team.
* Exceptional drafting skills, attention to detail, and effective written and oral communication.
