As an Area Sales Manager, you ensure active market penetration for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB), and Live Tank Circuit Breaker (LTB) Service within the assigned sales area for Hitachi Energy and end-customers. You are leading sales teams in Local Service Centers and you are responsible for the training and knowledge sharing to our local sales staff. You work closely with our Product Service Center, Local Service Center, and World-Class Front-End Sales. With your market presence and customer understanding, you sell and develop our versatile service portfolio and ensure profitable growth and high customer satisfaction.

How you will make an impact
1. Pro-active sales, acquisition, and marketing activities in assigned sales area for Standardised and Non-Standardized service offerings, including the definition of pricing for the sales area.
2. Develop and understand customer requirements, actively support customer decisions, provide customer support, consulting services, and actively receive customer feedback.
3. Actively solve customer requests, complaints, or issues competently in a timely manner.
4. Develop and maintain customer relationships (internal and external), sales, and service channels.
5. Provide yearly market analysis, competitor analysis, customer developments, and regional challenges.
6. Responsibility for budget planning and maintenance of the CRM system for Salesforce.com for the sales area.
7. Define the framework for the fiscal budget in close collaboration with the local service centers.
8. Closely monitor customer budgets and targets with actuals and actively close gaps.
9. Responsibility for the order intake in the assigned region.
10. Pursue extension and replacement projects, as well as other service projects from feasibility to contract conclusion.
11. Prepare offers in close collaboration with customers and internal partners.
12. Prepare contracts considering the legal aspects and internal guidelines.
13. Properly hand over projects to the project management team according to internal regulations.
14. Closely collaborate with the field operation and commissioning teams, as well as engineering and project management departments.
Your background
1. Higher education with technical and/or commercial focus (University, FH, Techniker Schule or similar).
2. Profound experience in sales, acquisitions, and negotiations, ideally in the electrical industry.
3. Several years of work experience, preferably in a similar position.
4. Very good knowledge of SAP, MS Office.
5. Drive and persistence combined with strong skills in motivating others.
6. Fluent in English; other languages (e.g., German) are a plus.
7. Willingness to travel up to 30%.
