Audi F1 Project - Shape the Future of Motorsport
Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg, Germany; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil, Switzerland; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK.
Your Mission
* Lead the development of vehicle simulation tools and methods used throughout the company.
* Develop numerical and optimization methods for the team.
* Research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art simulation methodologies to optimize vehicle performance and development.
* Create automated model correlation and testing routines.
* Optimize computation efficiency and robustness of all simulation tools.
* Contribute to the development of the vehicle physics model.
* Prepare documentation and presentations for software users and technical management.
* Coordinate development priorities with other departments.
* Define group skills targets and implement development plans.
* Implement processes to ensure quality of released software.
Your Profile
* Masters or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
* Experience developing simulation models and tools, preferably in Formula 1 or high-level motorsport environment.
* Previous management experience is beneficial.
* Strong coding skills in C/C++ and knowledge of C#, Python, Matlab, Simulink, and/or Modelica are advantageous.
* Expertise in developing simulation software and solving computational engineering problems.
* Numerical methods and optimization methodology expertise is required.
* Lap time simulation tool and methodology development expertise is necessary.
* Background in optimization methods, numerical methods, mathematical modelling, simulation methodology, and computational efficiency.
* Knowledge of physical mechanics, engineering dynamics, thermal science, and fluid dynamics is beneficial.
* Self-motivated, dedicated, creative, result-oriented, and able to work independently with a high attention to detail.
* Possess a pragmatic scientific approach and ability to weigh competing priorities.
* Ability to maintain quality while balancing short- vs long-term objectives.
* Dedicated, persevering, open-minded, innovative, and a team-player.
* Full professional proficiency in English and willingness to learn German are prerequisites.
