Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee the production, quality control, and operational efficiency of our coffee processing facility.
This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of coffee production or similar industry and the ability to optimise processes to maintain high-quality standards while meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operations & Production Management:
o Oversee the end-to-end coffee production process, from roasting and grinding to packaging and distribution.
o Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining efficiency and minimising waste.
o Implement and maintain best practices in roasting, blending, and packaging to uphold quality and consistency.
o Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure a steady supply of raw materials.
* Quality Control & Compliance:
o Ensure all products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
o Implement and monitor quality control measures at every stage of production.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
o Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
* Team Leadership & Workforce Management:
o Manage and lead a team of production staff, providing training, coaching, and development.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
o Ensure staffing levels are optimised to meet production needs.
* Process Improvement & Cost Management:
o Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
o Work with finance and senior management to manage budgets and control production costs.
Key Requirements:
* Experience & Skills:
o Proven experience as a Factory Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in the food & beverage industry (coffee experience is a plus).
o Strong understanding of coffee processing techniques, roasting, grinding, and packaging.
o Knowledge of HACCP, ISO, and other food safety standards.
o Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
o Strong organisational and time management abilities.
o Proficiency in production planning, process optimisation, and cost control.
* Qualifications:
o Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
o Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Quality Management is an advantage.
