Job Objectives:
The primary role of the Second Sommelier at Restaurant Il Lago is to manage the wine and beverage service in the dining area. This involves being the main point of contact between the head sommelier and junior staff members. As a highly regarded restaurant, we only hire highly skilled professionals. A refined, elegant, and charming personality with excellent teamwork skills is essential to maintaining our solid reputation as one of Geneva's top restaurants.
You will be responsible for preparing, assisting, verifying, and advising junior staff members in their work. You will also oversee the setup of equipment and wine before each service and ensure the cleanliness of all sommelier-related equipment, cellar, and supplies. Your strong organizational skills and empathetic relationship with clients and colleagues are key to success in this role.
