Head of Production

The Position
The position is based in Dubai, UAE, and will report directly to the Site Head. The role is responsible for leading the production and manufacturing operations within the organization and overseeing the end-to-end production processes to ensure efficient, high-quality output. This includes managing resources, maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ensuring adherence to safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and operational excellence. The Production Head will also play a key role in capacity planning, coordination with cross-functional teams, and meeting the organization’s production goals and quality standards.
Your Opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
* Accountable for overall functioning of manufacturing and packaging area.
* Ensure that products are produced, stored, shipped, and demolished as per written procedures and in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to obtain the required quality.
* Ensure safe work practices and usage of recommended PPE during operation at Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Packaging.
* Ensure cleaning and sanitization practices are followed as per the defined standard operating procedures in production and warehouse.
* Review and approve standard operating procedures, protocols, reports, URS, validation documents, qualification documents, batch manufacturing records, batch packaging records, etc., and ensure their strict implementation.
* Review and approve QMS documents (i.e., change control, deviation, investigations, quality risk management, corrective, and preventive actions, etc.).
* Provide technical inputs in investigations of OOS, OOT, deviations, market complaints, and product recalls.
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technology transfer activities, manufacturing/packaging activities, and warehouse activities.
* Ensure that the warehouse/production records are evaluated and signed by an authorized person.
* Ensure appropriate validation methodology is adopted during the introduction of new drug products as well as changes in existing manufacturing processes.
* Ensure the qualification and maintenance of warehouse, manufacturing, and packaging areas and equipment.
* Collaborate with supply chain, QC, QA, engineering, and other cross-functional departments to streamline the production scheduling process.
* Responsible for deliverables and schedule adherence as per production KPIs.
* As a part of the site leadership team, build short-term and long-term business strategy to deliver high-quality products on time, with cost-effective and highly efficient manufacturing operations.
* Act as a subject matter expert for the selection and approval for procurement of new equipment, spares, and operational consumables.
* Accountable for packaging material artwork review/approval, change parts design, and approval.
* Develop and administer the operational budget (CAPEX & OPEX) and monitor as well as control expenditure to ensure budget compliance.
* Conduct audits/inspections of cross-functional departments against the internal audit plan as an internal auditor.
* Handle regulatory audits and statutory inspections and ensure compliance.
* Drive Quality, Safety, Efficiency, and Cost improvement initiatives. Deploy lean six sigma methodology to reduce process waste as well as variability and design efficient processes.
* Continuously upgrade knowledge with respect to cGMP, advancements in equipment and processes, as well as updated regulatory guidelines.
* Recruit, train, develop, and effectively manage the ongoing performance of the team.
* Ensure that the required initial and continuing training of department personnel is carried out and adapted according to need.
* Lead, motivate, and inspire the team to learn more and to deliver more.
* Design departmental goals/KPIs and ensure adherence.
* Conduct performance reviews of direct reportees based on annual goals allocation.
* Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition.
