Recruitment Consultant - Account Management US Contract
We are seeking an experienced Value Engineer to lead cost optimization and efficiency improvements in pharmaceutical construction projects in Basel, Switzerland. This role focuses on applying Value Engineering (VE) principles to the design, materials, and construction processes of GMP-compliant pharmaceutical facilities, ensuring compliance with EU regulations, EMA (European Medicines Agency) standards, and local building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct Value Engineering (VE) assessments for pharmaceutical construction projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, safety, or compliance.
* Analyze facility designs, materials, and systems to improve efficiency while ensuring adherence to EU GMP, ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering) guidelines, and local regulations.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, regulatory teams, and project managers to ensure projects meet operational and compliance needs.
* Perform life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) for facility components, including cleanrooms, HVAC, process piping, and pharmaceutical-grade water systems.
* Recommend alternative construction materials, sustainable technologies, and cost-effective solutions tailored to European pharmaceutical and biotech facility requirements.
* Ensure compliance with EU GMP, EMA, ISO 14644 (Cleanroom Standards), and local regulatory frameworks.
* Support CAPEX planning by evaluating cost implications of design modifications and construction alternatives.
* Prepare and present VE reports, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare facilities in Europe.
* Strong knowledge of cleanroom design, HVAC systems, process piping, and pharmaceutical facility requirements.
* Familiarity with European construction standards, including EU GMP, ISPE guidelines, and local building regulations.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modelling), and cost estimating tools (e.g., RSMeans, CostX).
Preferred Skills:
* Certification in Value Engineering (SAVE International) or equivalent European certification.
* Experience with LEAN construction, sustainability practices, and carbon footprint reduction in pharmaceutical construction.
* Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP 5) for pharmaceutical automation.
* Background in biopharmaceutical, vaccine, or Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing facility construction.
* English speaking mandatory, German and French a plus.
