Job Description Risk Mitigation and Guidance: Work closely with internal teams to provide practical advice on minimizing legal risks related to new technologies, data activities, and innovative proposals. Data Privacy Program Evaluation: Continuously monitor and evaluate the organization's data privacy initiatives, identifying improvements and making recommendations to maintain a leading privacy program. Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to align privacy efforts with legal requirements, fostering consistency in data privacy practices. Relationship Building: Cultivate strong partnerships across business units, adeptly managing complex scenarios to ensure cohesive communication and effective collaboration. Framework Development: Develop and maintain the data privacy framework, updating processes and standards as necessary to support compliance and best practices. Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on emerging data privacy trends and issues, providing actionable recommendations to address potential legal risks. Contract Review and Drafting: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents and agreements related to technology, data, and privacy matters. Guideline Creation: Develop guidelines, articles, and reports on key data privacy topics, ensuring clear, accessible communication. Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a liaison with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and data protection authorities to navigate complex privacy concerns. Technology Awareness: Stay current on technological advancements to proactively assess and adapt to their data privacy implications. The Successful Applicant Essential Skills and Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and leadership in privacy, technology, and data law. Solid technology comprehension. Proven project management skills. Law degree and bar admission. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a law firm or complex corporate legal department. Excellent English language skills. Strong conceptual, organizational, analytical abilities, and communication skills. Uncompromising integrity, adherence to ethical standards, and commitment to stakeholder interests. Desired Skills and Qualifications: Postgraduate studies or international legal experience (e.g., LL. M. or foreign law firm association).
