Geneva College invites applications for a part-time online adjunct faculty member for the Online Degree Programs in the Department of Professional and Online Graduate Studies. The selected candidate(s) will teach online undergraduate Child and Family Services and Psychology courses. The position begins immediately, with teaching responsibilities beginning in or after January 2025, and will remain open until filled.

Summary of Responsibilities: This role teaches online Child and Family Services and Psychology classes. The individual is responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair assessments of learning, and clear documentation of student progress. Please note that this role is not responsible for developing course material; a course syllabus is provided by the Online Degree Programs at Geneva College.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Teach assigned contact hours per semester.
* Adequately prepare for lessons.
* Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved syllabus.
* Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes.
* Challenge, engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning.
* Provide timely grades to students and upload mid-term and final grades by college deadlines.
* Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
* Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Provide quality assessment of student work with substantive, timely feedback.
* Engage in pedagogical practices that encourage student success.
* Incorporate faith-based discussions in class forums.
* Participate in online faculty development opportunities.
* Communicate in a timely manner with students and/or ODP staff regarding concerns or issues.
* Proactively participate with students in the online classroom.
* Notify appropriate ODP staff of any curricular or course administration issues.
* Coordinate with ODP student success coach regarding student concerns.
Qualifications:
* Minimum: Must have a conferred master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field, or a master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in these fields. Prior teaching experience with online populations is strongly desired; training and support will be provided. Must possess strong communication, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Must have a computer, reliable high-speed internet access, and other instructional resources needed to conduct class online. An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church.
* Preferred: A terminal degree related to Psychology, Social Work, or Child Development is highly preferred. Prior online teaching experience and proficiency using a Learning Management System are preferred.
