We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Refractory Sales Engineer for our esteemed client, a leader in the refractory materials sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding the customer base within the steel industry, providing expert technical advice and customized solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and expand the existing customer base in the steel industry.
* Acquire new customers, analyze market potentials and developments.
* Advise customers on selecting the right refractory products and solutions.
* Organize the necessary technical and commercial visits to the customers.
* Understand technical specifications/drawings and customer requirements.
* Supervise refractory installations and trials follow up.
* Ability to work when required in a heavy industry environment.
* Edit and conduct product presentations.
* Prepare quotations and conduct negotiations.
* Manage the commercial topics around the order process.
* Monitor market trends and develop sales strategies.
* Participate in trade fairs and industry events.
* Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales Back office, Research & Development, Production and Logistics.
Requirements:
* Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with focus on Metallurgy, Material Science, or comparable qualification such as Industrial Chemistry.
* At least 5 years of professional experience in refractory technical sales in the steel industry or in steel production or in refractory production.
* Knowledge of steel production and related processes as well as understanding of the related applications of the refractory products.
* Good user knowledge of systems and MS Office.
* Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
* Confident presentation of communication and negotiation skills.
* Analytical and goal-oriented working style.
* Team player/networker in an international environment.
* Intercultural relationship management skills.
Languages:
* German native or C1/C2
* English (Business fluent), minimum B2
* Italian desirable, A2/B1
* Willingness to frequently travel
