Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Image Analysis and Bioinformatics
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of Zurich. The successful candidate will work on analyzing confocal and super-resolution microscopy data related to spatio-temporal genome and oncogene regulation.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Analyze high-dimensional data from confocal and super-resolution microscopy to understand spatio-temporal genome and oncogene regulation.
2. Compare Hi-ChIP data with imaging data to gain insights into chromatin conformation and oncogene regulation.
3. Develop computational tools using R, MATLAB, or Python to analyze and visualize chromatin conformation and oncogene regulation.
4. Collaborate closely with biologists to utilize cutting-edge computational approaches to model and decipher these mechanisms at the real-time scale.
Your Profile:
1. You hold a PhD or have advanced experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
2. You have strong expertise in microscopy imaging analysis and bioinformatics, including experience in handling and analyzing various types of imaging data.
3. You possess strong programming skills in R, MATLAB, or Python and experience with machine learning models.
4. You have a solid understanding of the latest trends and methods in bioinformatics, super-resolution and confocal microscopy imaging.
5. You excel in communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating motivation and organizational skills.
6. You have excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
7. You have experience in scientific writing and publishing papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
8. A knowledge in cancer biology and/or 3D genome organization is an asset.
9. Hands-on experience with the analysis and interpretation of multiomics data is also an asset.
