MapleCap Partners AG is a new Hedge Fund start-up, spinning out from LMR Partners AG. We are currently searching for a Software Developer to join our dynamic team in Pfäffikon, Schwyz.
The company is in the process of obtaining its FINMA license, enabling it to take over the being the investment manager for the MapleCap fund, which has been seeded by LMR.
Kamil Szynkarczuk, Founder of MapleCap, runs a relative value inflation strategy with a macro-overlay that is supported by a team of quants. He leverages proprietary software, large data sets and the latest technology to predict asset returns and execute trades in an optimal way.

Primary Responsibilities
* Enhance the existing models and infrastructure to facilitate scalability for future developments.
* Develop, improve and suggest improvements to existing models and trading tools with guidance from a portfolio manager and a full-time quantitative developer.
* Develop tools for market analysis and market monitoring.
* Ensure code and environments are well tested and maintained for sustainability and scalability over time.
* Manage project timelines, prioritise effectively, and ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards.
* Interface with other departments, including trading, risk management, technology, and compliance, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment with company goals.
Qualifications & Training
Essential
* A bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
* Knowledge of trading platforms and tools.
Experience
Essential
* Experience working on large software projects as part of a team.
* Proficiency in writing efficient and maintainable code, including algorithmic optimization, multi-threading, and memory management.
* Ability to work with large datasets, perform data cleaning, pre-processing, and analysis for model development and trading strategy implementation.
* Using version control tools to manage software projects.
Desirable
* Have an understanding of object-oriented paradigm.
* General interest in excellence in software development demonstrated by participation (or winning!) in hackathons, codathons and self-led projects is desired but not required.
* Experience in developing and optimizing algorithms for quantitative trading strategies.

* Full proficiency in Python and another language.
* We’re open to people from a variety of software backgrounds including Python, C++, Java, C# and others. Experience with Rust, Haskell, Go, F#, Scala or other programming languages is advantageous.
* Database tools SQL and ORM.
Desirable
* You don’t need to have experience in financial services, but an interest in the sector is appreciated.
* Exposure to DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, job scheduling and related cloud technologies.

Location and Work Environment
* MapleCap’s offices are in Pfäffikon, SZ, Switzerland (20 minutes from Zurich). This role requires 100% onsite presence, so applicants must be comfortable with a daily commute to the office.
