About the Company
Our customer is a Swiss based company specialized in the storage and supply of petroleum products. For its daily operations, they are looking for their Technical and Operations Manager.
About the Role
This role includes fault management, communication with external engineering firms and ensuring that the necessary manpower is available to keep infrastructure operational. The Technical and Operations Manager is also in charge of feasibility studies, technical specifications of equipment, and systems automation. He or she works closely with the Project Manager and the Compliance Manager to align technical activities with the company’s strategic and regulatory objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise the Maintenance Team Leader and his/her team of operators to ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities, including pipelines, tanks, pumping stations, and the hydrant system.
* Ensure equipment availability to avoid disruption to fuel distribution operations.
* Supervise the design and feasibility studies of technical projects.
* Define the technical specifications of the equipment and materials required for the company’s infrastructure.
* Coordinate interventions in the event of a breakdown or malfunction, ensuring a fast and accurate diagnosis.
* Perform root cause analyses to identify underlying issues and implement sustainable solutions.
* Prepare and document work programs for maintenance activities and technical interventions.
* Management of Accompanying Bulletins (BA).
* Ensure that teams follow clear protocols and optimized schedules.
Qualifications:
* Engineering degree/bac+5 in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent.
* A specialization in industrial maintenance or petroleum infrastructure is an asset.
* Audit certification is a plus.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, including team management technical.
* Strong technical knowledge of EHS working practices on a construction site.
* Experience in an industrial or airport environment is highly recommended.
* Fluent French & English mandatory in written and spoken.
* Living in Geneva area +- 20 km is essential.
Required Skills:
* Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of petroleum and airport infrastructure, including pipelines, storage tanks, pumping stations, and hydrant systems. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including collaboration with external engineering firms. Mastery of automated systems, including fire control panels, StopFuel, and cathodic protection.
* Team management: Leadership to supervise and motivate a small maintenance team. Ability to plan, delegate, and monitor maintenance and operation activities.
* Alarm management and interventions: Competence in the management and processing of critical alarms, with a rapid response capacity. Efficient coordination with specialist service providers to ensure fast and sustainable resolution of issues.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Prepare and document work programs for maintenance activities and technical interventions. Ensure that teams follow clear protocols and optimized schedules.
* Planning and optimization: Competence in planning preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Ability to identify and implement technical improvements to optimize facility performance.
Preferred Skills:
* Availability of facilities: Ensure that critical infrastructure always remains operational, even under unforeseen conditions.
* Human Resources Management: Maintain a qualified team available to meet operational requirements, while managing staff constraints.
* Coordination with external experts: Work effectively with external engineering firms or suppliers specialized to solve complex technical problems.
