We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with leadership ambitions to join our team and help modernize and enhance our data environment, making it a reliable source for business decisions.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating our platforms with corporate Business Intelligence. Your role will involve establishing a centralized and robust approach for developing, documenting, and using data and pipelines, as well as monitoring and improving performance, quality, and overall practices.
Responsibilities:
* Become an expert in source data structures, business entities, and corresponding processes.
* Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and structure them.
* Generalize data into the most suitable structure in the DWH for later data distribution within the organization.
* Introduce and set up DataOps processes and practices, including QA, Monitoring, Optimization, Security, Documentation, Knowledge, and Consistency.
* Design and implement business processes into functional and efficient pipelines.
* Transform legacy data pipelines into well-documented and clear DataOps processes and practices.
* Ensure clear connection with the enterprise PowerBI business analytics platform.
* Lead and guide data teams and platform developers to harmonize platform data.
* Support, troubleshoot, debug, and fix existing and legacy data pipelines and procedures until they are transformed.
* Implement and oversee company data management practices, policies, and regulations.
* Proactively recommend system improvements and process enhancements.
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of work.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in the data field.
* Experience with Azure, SQL (MS SQL) databases, data warehouses, ADF, and PowerBI.
* Strong understanding of T-SQL query language and SQL execution plans.
* Experience with data warehouse architecture.
* Experience with agile development methodologies and working in a team environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams across different locations and time zones.
* Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to development teams.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Knowledge of eCommerce or consumer business is regarded as an asset.
