The Senior Legal Counsel will strengthen the Commercial Contracting and Projects legal team.
The successful candidate will support project teams with the negotiation, drafting, and management of contracts related to construction, procurement, and associated disputes. This role also involves providing strategic legal advice on business decisions and ensuring a smooth approval process.
Key responsabilities:
- Draft, review, and interpret a variety of commercial agreements, including construction, procurement, consulting, and IT contracts, along with related correspondence.
- Assist in negotiating commercial contracts across multiple jurisdictions and provide assessments of associated legal risks.
- Deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice on issues arising within the scope of commercial contracting.
- Create and maintain templates and standard documents for contracts.
- Oversee contract approval workflows and manage related documentation.
- Advise on pre-dispute and dispute matters, gathering relevant information to support resolution.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, tax, insurance, compliance, and competition, to ensure alignment in contracting practices.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors.
- Be willing to travel internationally as required.

8+ years PQE in law firms (and inhouse) with expertise in FIDIC contracts.A strong foundation in common law is a prerequisite.
- A university degree in law or an equivalent nationally recognized legal qualification.
- Qualified lawyer with a strong Common Law background (UK or other Common Law jurisdictions). Admission to the Bar (past or present) is required.
- 8-10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a reputable law firm. In-house experience is an added advantage.
- Expertise in contract and commercial law, with significant experience in the FIDIC suite of contracts. Additional experience in public-private partnerships, public tenders, or port concessions would be highly valued.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, at an exceptional level (C1-C2). Proficiency in other major European languages is a plus.
