The Fractional Controller plays a key role in leading client financial management, serving as the primary point of contact across various clientele and ensuring accurate and timely completion of all bookkeeping and financial reporting. Responsibilities include supervising bookkeepers, managing month-end closes, implementing internal controls, and presenting financial reports to clients in adherence to GAAP and SSARS 21 standards.
Strong technical accounting skills, exceptional client communication, and proficiency in QuickBooks are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for numerous clients, fostering strong relationships and understanding their unique financial requirements.
* Educate, mentor, and train team members at various levels, reviewing their work to ensure precision and quality.
* Deliver comprehensive accounting and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including individuals and businesses across various industries.
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including transaction entry, reconciliation of general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts, and the preparation and posting of journal entries.
* Perform intricate adjustments and reconciliations, conduct accounting system and record clean-ups, and establish accounting systems for new clients.
* Generate financial reports using accounting software, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SSARS 21 standards.
* Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and manage fixed asset and personal property reporting.
* Apply industry expertise and research skills to deliver exceptional service on complex projects, conduct proactive risk and compliance assessments, and provide best practice recommendations to clients.
* Organize and manage personal and team projects, prioritize tasks, and guarantee timely project completion and adherence to deadlines.
* Analyze and interpret financial reports from clients and accounting software, preparing and posting journal entries for business clients.
Requirements:
* 8+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably across multiple clients and industries.
* A strong understanding of GAAP and SSARS 21, with proven ability to apply these standards.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train team members.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building strong client relationships.
* Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify issues, and develop solutions.
* Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and strong Excel skills, with familiarity in other financial software.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
* Must be able to work independently in a remote capacity, take initiative, and anticipate client needs.
* Commitment to staying current with accounting standards and best practices.
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
* CPA preferred.
