The Senior Firmware Engineering Manager provides technical leadership and oversight for embedded processes within the Resideo Products and Solutions Engineering Organization.
Working with engineering leaders globally, you will define and build firmware processes, metrics, and tools to improve firmware maturity. Your expertise in firmware design, project management, process, and leadership will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure products.
JOB DUTIES:
Own the firmware development process, including synchronization of agile/scrum teams with the stage/gate process, integrating, and maintaining a secure development lifecycle, tools standardization, and reuse frameworks and asset management.
Ensure alignment across software and product organizations by creating visibility to projects, priorities, backlogs, schedules, and requirements across product lines and functional teams.
Chair the Resideo Center of Technologies Monthly Operating Review meeting.
Represent and vote on behalf of Resideo's software company at decision gates.
Direct/oversee R&D design centers. Review R&D budget to actuals. Approve overruns and monitor contract R&D transfer pricing.
Control significant decisions regarding defense and protection of firmware intangibles (in conjunction with Resideo legal department).
Establish pricing policy, and review and approve annual price list changes for microcontrollers.
Review of microcontroller contract terms for EMEA and Mexico.
Matrix manage Resideo Software Engineering Tools Portfolio & Strategy team.
Central PMO of best practices for software/firmware development.
Ensure new products using Swiss software company funded microcontroller firmware are integrated into the SwissCo model.
YOU MUST HAVE:
5+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience.
10+ years of experience in embedded product development.
Extensive knowledge of firmware and a proven track record of developing and improving firmware engineering processes.
