The Electrical Engineer assists in designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing parts, systems, and technical processes. Performs engineering design and analysis tasks with standard techniques. Works with mechanical engineering, more senior electrical engineers, and designers to prepare plans, designs, computation methods, and reports. Completes engineering projects and electro-mechanical system designs to support the successful development, implementation, and sustainment of new systems and products or modifications and revisions to current systems and products. The electrical engineer will develop Environmental Control Units (ECUs), heater systems, and Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) protection equipment. The Geneva facility develops and builds industrial air conditioners, flightline air conditioners, ECUs, CBRN equipment, military heaters, and more.
Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities:
1. Design & Development of ECU's and CBRN Equipment
2. Oversee Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design/development, working with an outside firm to complete detailed design
3. Work with mechanical engineers and designers to build 3D electrical enclosure layouts
4. Complete designs with AutoCAD software and direct technical activities of assigned designers and technicians
5. Use of Product Data Management (PDM) software for revision control
6. Create/edit BOMs using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP software
7. Incorporates customer requirements into planning and work
8. Follow standard project management practices
9. Familiarity with MIL-STD 461
10. Completes assigned tasks on time and budget while meeting technical requirements
11. Reviews customer specifications and requirements and, under direction, develops designs to support them best
12. Implements design to cost and for manufacture and assembly
13. Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
Electrical Engineer Job Requirements
1. BS Electrical Engineering
2. 4-5 years of electrical engineering professional experience
3. Experience with ECU's or CBRN equipment a plus
4. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees, and managers at all levels within the company
5. Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
6. Experience with AutoCAD for electrical systems design
7. Professional use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) / Product Data Management (PDM) software (Solid Works EPDM preferred)
8. ERP/MRP software proficiency (SAP preferred)
9. Experience developing control systems, including PCBs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and enclosure layouts
10. Experience working with engineering project management tools
