The Systems Biology Laboratory at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in
Bellinzona, Switzerland, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work at the cutting edge between cancer immunotherapy and bacterial engineering. See the following paper for prior work on this topic (Link).
Responsibilities:
• Develop and engineer bacterial strains and evaluate their efficacy in preclinical tumor models.
• Conduct immunomonitoring assays and cell culture experiments.
• Manage and maintain mouse colonies in a SPF facility, monitor animal health and welfare, ensuring adherence to facility protocols, and overseeing regulatory compliance and ethical approval processes.
• Present research findings at scientific meetings and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
• Mentor junior researchers, providing technical and scientific training in in vivo work.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience with tumor mouse models and in vivo experimental techniques, including tumor implantation, intravenous or intratumoral injections, bioluminescence monitoring, and flow cytometry from in vivo samples.
• Familiarity with animal welfare regulations and ethical guidelines, including Swiss animal handling laws, is desirable.
• Experience in immunomonitoring in mice, including FACS analysis, ELISA, and cytokine profiling.
• A strong background in cancer immunotherapy and a passion for developing innovative therapeutic strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of independent research.
