Job Title: Mechanical Engineer for the ATLAS Detector
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Experimental Physics Department at CERN.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the construction of the next Upgrade program of the ATLAS experiment, a major particle physics experiment at CERN.
About the Role:
* You will integrate services into the ATLAS environment and infrastructure, including defining envelopes and routing paths, working with cabling and piping project engineers, and preparing cabling study documents.
* You will steer system integration studies and manage CAD models within the ATLAS Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) structure, defining envelopes and issuing drawings and reference documents.
* You will oversee the production of support structures and design installation tools, prepare assembly drawings for material procurement, and manage the organization of the ATLAS CAD models.
Responsibilities:
1. Integrate services into the ATLAS environment and infrastructure.
2. Steer system integration studies and manage CAD models.
3. Oversight of the production of support structures and design installation tools.
Qualifications:
* A Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in the integration and design of services within large and complex environments.
* Experience in CAD management within an integrated PLM system.
* Proven experience in writing installation procedures and effectively communicating with management.
Desirable:
* Experience in performing a variety of engineering tasks and working on various projects in parallel.
* Experience in working in an international and multi-disciplinary team.
Technical Competencies:
* Integration of mechanical systems.
* Production of 2D drawings and 3D models using ISO dimensioning and tolerancing, knowledge of CATIA V5 or equivalent.
* Assembly and integration of infrastructure for detectors or experimental facilities.
