As a Communications Director People & Culture for Zurich Insurance Group you will be at the forefront of telling the story of our Zurich employer brand and purpose, shaping the experience of our employees, leaders and stakeholders across and beyond the organization through original and engaging communication strategies that raise the profile and impact of our brand with existing and perspective colleagues.
What you will do
1. Leading Global People & Culture communications to support the delivery of Zurich’s people strategy and culture evolution.
2. Think ‘big picture’ and provide seamless strategic communications advice to senior leaders, including the Group Chief People Officer and her senior team, building strong and trusted relationships across and beyond the company.
3. Design and deliver an effective and agile communications strategy to tell Zurich’s people story and drive engagement and culture evolution across all our employees, stakeholders and markets, including locally at our Corporate Headquarters.
4. Plan and execute creative communications and change communications plans through understanding business needs, audience motivations, and deliver effective solutions and campaigns.
5. Manage and coordinate a small team to define and execute agreed communication objectives, ensure end-to-end delivery and deliver outcomes.
6. Act as a subject matter expert and work closely with other communications expert teams as well as our local markets to ensure a targeted and coordinated approach.
7. Demonstrate measurable results against communications KPIs.
8. Work with our Digital team to devise a strategy to create a unique employee experience and build advocacy across Zurich’s social media channels and attract talent.
9. Shape the experience of employees and visitors at our global headquarters through compelling, engaging and relevant communications and visuals.
What you bring
10. A Master’s degree or comparable qualification in Corporate Communications/PR.
11. At least 10+ years of experience in strategic corporate communications roles, preferably in support of a leading HR/People function.
12. Proven ability to support large-scale culture evolution programs and innovation.
13. Leadership qualities to manage, influence and motivate a cross-functional team.
14. Proven experience in best practice strategic people communications, employee advocacy, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, employee experience, employer brand program, culture evolution or transformation programs, working across organizations.
15. Experience of working as a strategic adviser with senior leaders to ensure delivery of simple and complex communication and change programs, activities and messages.
16. The capability to influence senior stakeholders with compelling, well communicated arguments over the use of Zurich’s people and culture communications strategy.
17. Strategic, organized and structured approach to work with the ability to juggle a variety of different tasks in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
18. Ability to simplify complexity and create meaningful messages that contribute to overarching strategy.
19. Native level written and spoken English with strong copywriting and editing skills, exceptional attention to detail. German is a plus.
20. Expertise in using various communication channels, including digital tools (internal and external social media) and innovative formats, to target key audiences with meaningful content and adapt communication approaches based on data and insights.
21. Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management techniques and practices.
22. Interculturally savvy and experienced in working at a global/international level.
