Your Tasks and Responsibilities
The Lead Lighthouse Projects is a pivotal role in our Clinical Development and Operations (CD&O) team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, drive, and successfully implement key strategic programs, improvement initiatives, and transformation projects to maximize the impact of Bayer CD&O.
You will work closely with senior managers in CD&O and report to the Head Clinical Data & Performance Excellence. Your role will also interact with key stakeholders outside CDO across R&D and beyond.
Major Tasks:
* Lead strategy and transformation initiatives within CD&O from conceptualization to successful implementation.
* Generate insights into the CD&O organization to identify improvement potential and conceptualize and align resulting improvement initiatives with the organization.
* Set up winning cross-functional teams by identifying suitable team members and build and lead high-performing teams.
* Build networks within the CD&O organization and beyond in Bayer Pharma to identify improvement potentials and drive change.
* Optimize key processes in CD&O to enable faster and leaner execution in CD&O.
* Act as a thought partner for senior stakeholders within CD&O and Pharma on key improvement and innovation topics.
* Enhance expertise for Clinical Development and Operations by bringing innovation into CD&O (best-practices, novel tools and approaches, digitalization).
* Act as a sparring partner for other improvement initiatives and teams building on expertise and experience in strategy and transformation projects.
* Demonstrate VACC leadership for internal and external teams.
Requirements
1. An excellent university degree in medicine or science.
2. A promotion/PhD is an advantage (experience in both science and business is essential).
3. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or management consulting coupled with in-depth experience of the pharma value chain, including strong experience in CD&O.
4. Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful and fast project delivery in a complex environment – several years of management consulting experience in a top-tier consultancy is a must.
5. In-depth experience of the pharma value chain, including strong experience in CD&O. E.g., working in a similar role at another pharmaceutical company.
6. First-hand experience in leading transformation and strategy projects in CD&O / Clinical Development (e.g., transformations, digitalization, strategy development).
7. Strong understanding of the external CD&O stakeholder landscape (e.g., physicians, payers, providers).
8. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global setting, fostering collaboration and innovation.
9. Exceptional stakeholder management and senior management communications skills. Track-record of working with senior management.
10. Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English. German is an advantage.
