Key Role Summary:
This role supports the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Net Zero Transition team in driving climate change solutions for aviation. The successful candidate will contribute to research, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, focusing on sustainable aviation fuels.
About the Team:
The Sustainability and Economics division at IATA works with airlines, regulators, and civil society to develop policies, standards, and solutions that support sustainable air transport development and mitigate its environmental impact.
Responsibilities:
1. Collect and analyze data on sustainable aviation fuel developments worldwide.
2. Support the creation of a comprehensive SAF database through technology research.
3. Aid in IATA campaigns to accelerate commercial SAF adoption.
4. Develop guidance materials for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Contribute to industry events and communications regarding SAF topics.
6. Coordinate and manage industry calls or events.
7. Support team efforts in developing presentations and workshops on SAF.
8. Provide timely advice and information to member airlines.
9. Assist in research and position papers for technical meetings and industry events.
Requirements:
* 3-5 years of experience in a science/engineering field, with a university degree.
* Familiarity with fuels, policy, and sustainable aviation fuels.
* Strong interest in analysis and research-based problem-solving.
* Experience in international environments, particularly working with UN agencies, EU institutions, and NGOs.
* Excellent written and spoken English skills, with additional languages an asset.
* Ability to work under multiple deadlines and priorities.
* Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
