Your Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer within the Cabling Section in the Engineering Department, you will play a key role in expanding, strengthening and maintaining CERN's signal and power cable installations, required for various systems within the CERN accelerators. You will work closely with equipment experts and take part in technical discussions to ensure the optimal design of the cabling systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Analysing requests for new signal and power cables and modifications to existing ones;
* Participating in site surveys to assess installation conditions;
* Conducting technical studies, including the definition of cable routes and verification of compatibility between cables and connectors;
* Designing patch panels to segment cable installations;
* Preparing execution documentation for CERN's installation contractors;
* Organising, supervising and ensuring safety on your worksites;
* Developing project documentation, including progress reports and design reports;
* Reviewing and enhancing procedures for connector assembly on cables.
Your Profile
Skills Required
* Experience in managing electrical infrastructure projects;
* Significant experience in designing and installing signal and power cables;
* Excellent team-working attitude;
* Fluent English language skills; knowledge of French would be an advantage.
* A professional background in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
* A Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
The selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed due to occupational health risks associated with this position.

* A monthly stipend ranging between 6287 and 6911 Swiss Francs per month;
