Full-time position - Permanent contract – Based in Plan-Les-Ouates/ Geneva
SYRHATECH is at a pivotal moment in its growth. To support our expanding R&D activities, we are looking for a highly motivated Formulation Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative medical device products.
Main mission – Product Development (90%)
1. Collect customer’s needs and translate them into technical requirements.
2. Define and execute experimental plans to create prototypes:
* Conduct literature, patent, and technical research, including assessment of in-house manufacturing equipment, and outsourced technical solutions (raw materials, components, services).
* Conduct formulation and characterization of prototypes in the R&D laboratory, including drafting protocols, reports, and stability studies.
* Organize, conduct, and supervise the manufacturing of R&D prototypes in cleanroom environments, coordinating with production site staff.
1. Provide regular feedback to the R&D Manager and actively participate in project meetings with international clients.
2. Ensure project planning timelines, cost targets, product specifications, and quality standards (ISO 13485).
3. Travel up to 30% (mostly within 1h travel distance).
Additional missions (10%)
1. Propose technical improvements to R&D lab operations.
2. Ensure a smooth technology transfer from R&D to the industrialization team, including participation in process validation activities.
3. Coordinate with internal teams from design input to design verification.
4. Draft and maintain technical files requested by the QA department.
Your profile:
1. Engineering degree in chemical, polymers or equivalent (materials science, or pharmaceutical sciences).
2. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in medical device R&D (Class III), preferably under ISO 13485:2016.
3. Technical skills:
* Formulation & characterization of hydrogels.
* Testing methods such as rheology, pH, osmolarity (GPC/HPLC is a plus).
* Experience working in cleanroom environments.
4. Strong skills in technical documentation (protocols, reports, flowcharts) and project management (e.g., Gantt charts).
5. Fluent in English (C1 minimum), French is a plus.
