Job Description
The objective of this project is to investigate the ultrafast dynamics of quantum materials under pressure.
Pressure plays a crucial role in establishing the ground state of a material in thermodynamic equilibrium. Our goal is to examine the dynamic response of the system once it is removed from equilibrium following excitation by an ultrashort pulse of light.
This knowledge will enable improved control over the properties of quantum materials and inform theoretical developments focused on modeling ultrafast material responses.
About the Project
This research opportunity will be based within Prof. Elsa Abreu's Quantum Material Dynamics group at ETH Zürich, within the Institute for Quantum Electronics.
Your Profile
* A Master's degree in physics or materials sciences (preferable) with a background in condensed matter physics.
* Experience with time-resolved experiments or high-pressure measurements is desirable.
* Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
* A strong candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, and self-motivation.
