To support our growth plans, we are searching for a DTC Merchandiser to join the Skincare Team, reporting to the Brand Director. You’ll be joining a fantastic team of passionate brand-building experts and supported cross-functionally by designers, developers, and marketers to help us evolve a best-in-class direct-to-consumer platform.
This role is suited for someone with a passion for e-commerce merchandising and who has experience of website management in the beauty / skin care space (this experience is essential). You will lead the creation of an engaging online shopping experience through product assortments, managing site content, optimizing product listings, and implementing merchandising and promotional strategies to drive sales and customer satisfaction. This is a highly cross-functional position, liaising with key stakeholders across tech, creative, growth, and channel-dedicated teams.
This role is based out of our office located at the EPFL Innovation Park in Lausanne, Switzerland; however, there is flexibility regarding where this position is located within Switzerland, meaning remote work is also an option.
Fluency in English, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is essential.
What you’ll be doing
* Develop and execute website merchandising strategies that align with overall business objectives, focusing on maximizing sales, engagement, and customer satisfaction. Partners closely with Brand team to understand business goals and supports in building and executing the marketing calendar to execute product plans within the Ecommerce channel and on Amazon.
* Manage and optimize product catalogues on Shopify and Amazon – operating with a sense of urgency and solution-oriented approach to ensure assets and messaging always reflect exceptional experience for consumers and is an accurate representation of the brand and product(s).
* Ensure product pages are always accurate, engaging, and optimized for SEO.
* Plan and execute promotions, discounts, and campaigns to drive traffic and increase conversion rates, collaborating with the growth team to create compelling and cohesive messaging and clear metrics.
* Set up and manage collections, cross-sells, and upsell strategies to drive revenue.
* Monitor and update pricing and promotions to align with marketing campaigns.
* Monitor inventory levels pre and post promotional activities; partner with supply chain team to mitigate out of stock risks or fulfillment delays.
* Support brand team in briefing launch assets and deliverables for new product launches and tentpole events.
* Partner with channel stakeholders (Amazon, etailers, retailers) to ensure all .com updates align with global brand strategies, launch dates, and campaign content – leading QA to ensure consistency across all channels.
* Collaborate with copy team in creation of engaging product copy aligned with brand voice and content requirements per channel.
* Conduct market research and analysis to remain informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviors to identify and recommend new merchandising opportunities.
Web Management:
* Maintain and update our website, including product listings, landing pages, banners, and promotions.
* Troubleshoot website issues and liaise with developers when necessary.
* Perform regular site audits to ensure accuracy, functionality, and performance.
* Optimize page speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall UX/UI in collaboration with the design and development teams.
Data & Analytics:
* Utilize analytics tools to track and measure the performance of merchandising initiatives. Provide regular reports and insights to DTC Leadership and cross-functional partners. Make strong optimization recommendations for improving the Ecommerce shopping experience that will drive brand and business targets.
* Track and analyze website and product performance using tools like Google Analytics and Shopify reports.
* Ensure the site is compliant with region-specific privacy laws, manage and monitor our consent management setup.
* Work closely with creative teams to align site content with brand messaging and campaigns.
* Assist in the execution of A/B tests and other optimization experiments.
* Coordinate with customer support to address ecommerce-related issues or feedback.
Experience and skills required
* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, ecommerce, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce, web management roles (beauty experience is required).
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Merchandise Planning and Analytical Tools (Salesforce, Power BI).
* Expertise in Shopify and Amazon Seller Central.
* Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and website troubleshooting.
* Some proficiency in Google Analytics and other analytics tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
* Passion for ecommerce, digital trends, and providing exceptional customer experience.
* Must be able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and organizes workload to meet timelines in a fast paced, high-growth environment.
Experience with the following platforms and tech is advantageous
* Experience with SEO optimization and keyword research.
* Familiarity with graphic design tools (we use Figma).
* Familiarity with site builders (we use Framer).
* Knowledge of email marketing platforms (we use Klaviyo).
* Social Commerce: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
* Experience with A/B testing tools (we use convert.com) and CRO (conversion rate optimization) best practices.
