Short DescriptionAs Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law, you will have the opportunity to contribute in a vital role to AO's global activities and to develop related processes and policies sustainably further. You will be part of an engaged legal team of 3 colleagues and report directly to the General Counsel/Head of Legal & Compliance. This newly created position can be developed into a 100% role.Main ResponsibilitiesThe Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law provides specialized legal support and guidance in the fields of Corporate, IT, Digitalization, and Data Privacy Law. She/he is responsible for advising on matters related to IT contracts, data protection, cybersecurity, data governance and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law will work closely with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure that all-related legal aspects of the business are managed efficiently. The role comprises of operational support as well as of strategic and conceptual work related to Digital Law.Key Responsibilities:Advise and support in IT related contract negotiationsAdvise and support in global R&D projectsDraft, update and maintain policies and procedures related to Digital LawProvide guidance on data protection laws incl. Human Research Laws, ensuring compliance in the handling and processing of personal dataAdvise on legal issues related to Information Governance, including incident response, data breaches, and support for cyber risk managementCompliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant IT/Digital laws and regulationsRisk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with IT/Digital operations, working with cross-functional teams to implement best practicesTraining & Education: Draft, implement and provide/manage legal training to internal clients on relevant laws, regulations, and internal policiesTake responsibility as the lead counsel in different business casesMain RequirementsLLM or adequate degree from an accredited law school (Swiss or EU qualification)Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an in-house role or in a law firm with focus on Digital Law matters, data protection management, data governance managementStrong understanding of IT and data governanceExcellent analytical and communication skills as well as strong client and solution orientationAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyLegal expertise and pragmatismFluency in English and German is requiredThe role is based in Davos.
