Looking for a Technical Co-Founder for an Android Launcher App - I am building an Android Launcher that transforms your smartphone into a distraction-free “dumb phone” during scheduled hours (details in the attached document). The ideal candidate has expertise—or a strong interest—in Android development, is eager to build and shape a project from the ground up, communicates effectively, and values the simplicity of minimalist products.


The Role:
This is a lead software development position with the potential to evolve into a Co-Founder/CTO role. The position is initially unpaid and equity-based, with flexibility to decide whether to bootstrap or seek funding as the project progresses.

Smartphone addiction has become a growing concern, with average users spending hours daily on their devices, often leading to social isolation and decreased focus. Essential Phone addresses this by enabling users to break free from the endless distractions of social media, games, and notifications.


Designed for those seeking balance in their digital lives, this project offers a new way to manage phone usage by automatically switching your device to an “essentials mode” during chosen hours, where only essential apps appear (e.g., Phone, Messages, Spotify, Google Maps, and Revolut).
