As a Purchasing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless procurement of components and materials required for production. Reporting directly to Supply Chain Management, you will also work in partnership with product development, regulatory affairs, sales, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
Your mission will include sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality components while maintaining optimal stock levels.
Responsibilities
* Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for packaging and marketing materials.
* Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
* Monitor inventory levels and manage reordering processes to ensure continuous supply.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality materials.
* Collaborate with product development and quality assurance teams to guarantee compliance with industry standards and specifications.
* Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential innovations.
* Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal processes.
* Ensure up-to-date master data for efficient Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
* Manage and validate supplier invoices.
* Participate in cross-functional projects to support company goals.
Experience Requirements
* Federal Diploma of Purchasing Specialist or equivalent.
* Experience in procurement, preferably in the cosmetics or beauty industry.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple topics simultaneously.
* Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (SAP knowledge is a plus).
* Understanding of cosmetics industry standards and regulations is highly preferred.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Team player with an internal customer-oriented mindset.
